Darke Writes, Inc. offers a variety of editorial services, including professional editing ("book doctoring"), copyediting, proofreading, and writing. We are also happy to help in writing cover letters, to assist in finding agents and publishers.

Barbara Darke is a professional editor and writer, with over 20 years experience in editorial work. She has worked for a number of newspapers and magazines, and published fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Her resume is available on request.

Editors frequently mangle a writer's work, making inappropriate changes and injecting their own style and voice into the piece. As a writer, Barbara is very sensitive to the client's original intent, and honors the writer's personal tone and style. No major changes are ever made without the author's approval.
